چکیده
Figure 2 Right mid and lower zone opacification after lung re-expansion. rax and pooling of fluid in the affected lung causing hypovolaemia. Packed cell volume rises,3 as in the case reported here, and responds to prompt fluid resuscitation. Recollapse of the affected lung may in theory reverse the cardiorespiratory compromise but there are no reports of its application. The use of diuretics is contraindicated in the presence of hypovolaemia. Treatment of a large pneumothorax that has been present for some days should aim for slow re-expansion, either by intermittent aspiration or intercostal chest tube drainage with intermittent clamping, together with close monitoring of vital signs. Dehydration and hypoxaemia should be corrected early. Suction should be avoided as an initial treatment.

IMPORTANT DIAG NOSTIC AND SURGICAL POINTS IN HORSESHOE KIDNEY SURGERY
Prom April, 1983 until December, 1987, 15 patients with horseshoe kidneys underwent surgery in Shahid Labbafi Nejad Medical Center. Pyelolithotomy was done in 11 cases, pyeloplasty in 2 cases, and nephrectomy in 2 cases. Symphysiotomy was performed in 14 of these patients. Preoperative angiography was not done in any of the cases and midline transperitoneal approach was utilized in all of ...
متن کاملChallenging case of horseshoe kidney double fracture
INTRODUCTION Renal injuries occur in 10% of blunt abdominal traumas, 7% of these occur in kidneys with congenital or acquired disorders. Trauma of horseshoe kidney is an uncommon finding. PRESENTATION OF A CASE We present the case of 31 year-old caucasian man with no remarkable personal records, who was brought to our Trauma Unit soon after being involved in a motorcycle collision. A Contrast...
متن کاملUreteral rupture after blunt abdominal trauma in a child with unknown horseshoe kidney.
More than 90% of renal injuries in children result from blunt abdominal trauma. A 10-year-old female had a blunt abdominal trauma with macro-hematuria. The computed tomography scan revealed the presence of a horseshoe kidney and a 3rd grade renal lesion and contrast leakage from the right ureter. The ureteral rupture was confirmed by cystoscopy and ascendant pyelography and than a double J-sten...
متن کاملSurgical ‘damage control’ treatment of a large retroperitoneal liposarcoma encasing a horseshoe kidney
Damage control is a surgical strategy for severely compromised trauma patients based on speed control of life-threatening injuries that aims to rapidly resuscitate patients in an intensive care unit (ICU). We report on the use of such therapeutic strategy in a patient affected by a retroperitoneal sarcoma concomitant to a horseshoe kidney, a relatively rare anatomical malformation.
متن کاملA case of dupable duple duplicity and duplexity
Duplication anomalies are quite common with ureteral duplication anomalies being the most frequent. Despite the relatively frequent incidence of a horseshoe kidney and duplication anomalies in any individual patient, the combination of horseshoe kidney and bilateral ureteric duplication is a very rare entity and very few cases have been reported to date. We present a case of a patient with nove...
متن کاملRecurrent renal calculi in coexistence of horseshoe kidney and medullary sponge kidney
Sir, Horseshoe kidney is the most common congenital renal fusion anomaly, with an incidence of 1 every 400–1600 births.[1,2] Kidney stones are common in patients with horseshoe kidney with a reported incidence ranging approximately from 20% to 80%.[1,3] Although altered anatomy‐related impaired urinary drainage is a proposed explanation for the kidney stone formation in patients with horseshoe ...
